National Peasant’s Museum (www.muzeultaranuluiroman.ro) is a museum of national interest owning rich collections. It is housed in a historic building erected in neo-Romanian style. MŢR practices a very special type of museology, which has been prized by winning the EMYA award in 1996 - the European Museum of the Year Award. An important aspect of its activity is to constantly enrich and diversify its collection through personal research, purchases or donations. MŢR has a noteworthy experience in managing research and exhibitions projects, many of them financed by grants from the government or by the European Union

Responsibilities within the cultural project:

  • To provide free of charge (indicating the source), images and information from the archive of MŢR on museums / ethnographic museum collections of ethnic minorities in Romania
  • To promote this project through their own channels


Ciuc Szekler Museum – Miercurea-Ciuc (www.csszm.ro) hosted in the city of Miko, a historical monument. The museum owns historical and archeological pieces, (including the Dacian silver treasure discovered at Sâncrăieni Ciuc), ethnographical objects and medieval paintings, drawings and watercolors of artist Ferenc Márton, the collection of old and rare books (the Franciscan library at Şumuleu Ciuc). Székely wooden houses and gates constitute a specific section in the museum collection.
It is a museum of regional significance
Specific tasks within the cultural project:

  • To promote the project on its own website and its own communication channels
  • To provide advice on Transylvanian Hungarian museums and collections


The National Association of Rural Ecological and Cultural Tourism (www.antrec.ro) is a non-governmental organization, a member of the European Federation of Rural Tourism - EUROGITES being recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in the Romanian rural tourism development, encouraging environmental conservation and preservation of traditional Romanian culture. The association was founded in 1994 and has a total of 2,500 members - owners of touristic and agro-touristic guesthouses in some 800 localities from 32 counties.

Specific tasks within the cultural project:

  • To promote the project on its own website and its own communication channels.
  • To Provide information on hostels in rural locations where there are museums and public collections. Such information, as well as the link to ANTREC own website will be posted on the page dedicated to the project.


The Network of Private Collections and Rural Ethnographic Museums in Romania is a non-governmental organization composed of 21 museums spread throughout Romania. An outstanding contribution in the training and legal establishment of the network had the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant
Specific tasks within the cultural project:

  • To provide information and photos of public rural collections that will show the history and customs of ethnic minorities in the RECOMESPAR.
  • To provide advice / information and photos on other public collections village - in the area - which will present the history and customs of ethnic minorities.
  • To provide information on immovable cultural heritage of ethnic minorities in the area.
